I went to the John Maxwell School of Golf today at Jupiter Hills. That’s code for John and I played today and he “Schooled Me” by beating me 3 and 2.
During the two hours and fifty minutes it took us to play I learned two very valuable tips from John that I have permission to pass on to you.
1. Start your golf swing with your left hip. This promotes turning the upper body and helped me not to “pick up” the club as much – thus swinging more rotary.
2. God’s Mercy and Compassion and Grace is so great that it extends even to Democrats! I was not easily convinced on this point and John firmly assures me that there will be Democrats in Heaven – some closer to the front rows than me – and I just have to get used to it.
It all sounded so convincing when John said it but I’ve learned not to believe everything John tells me.

PS He has a new book out this week: 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth – Live them and reach your potential. I don’t know if it’s any good or not but they sold out the first run of 100,000 copies in the first week and it’s on the non-fiction “best seller list” with a second print on the way. How can 100,000 people be wrong? But then again I don’t read so how can I know. This may be why I haven’t reached my potential.
